Explore Shimla: Himalayan Bird Park

Right across the main gate of the Viceregal Lodge complex, lies the Himalayan Bird Park, which gives a traveler the best opportunity to view some of the most beautiful Himalayan birds. The Mountain Walker invites you, our fellow traveler, to enjoy this short pictorial story of our visit to this awesome aviary in April 2015. Photos: Mayur Heganekar

One can reach the Himalayan Bird Park from Chaura Maidan by either crossing Peterhoff and then walking down the other side, or by climbing up a little distance from across the main gate of the Viceregal Lodge (Indian Institute of Advanced Study) complex.

In the meanwhile, the peacocks have come down from their perches. Is something about to happen…??? ; Photo: Mayur Heganekar
