Gue Village

July 16, 2016, 1320 hours.

#Gue wasn’t in our first itinerary nor in the second altered itinerary. It wasn’t in our third plan either. It walked into our minds and plans after an interesting conversation we had at #Rarang with two gentlemen who (separately) told us about Gue and why it’s interesting. Naturally, we had to visit.

When we reached Gue, it was mesmerising – it came into view as a green oasis amidst the black, brown and gray mountains surrounding it. It’s a small village, sprawled across a sort of small valley, with a few houses, farms and a new Buddhist Monastery perched atop a hill on higher ground.

As we made our way through the village and then to the Monastery on the hill, we sort of forgot about the reason for visiting the village – such was the beauty and tranquility of the place.
