On the ridge above Kunzum Pass

July 19, 2016, 1055 hrs.

We have completed the first leg of the trek – a very little leg I am guessing – and are now atop the ridge on Kunzum Pass. Took us about 35 minutes to get to 4700 metres above sea level. It’s a place of faith and paying respects like most peaks and mountain tops are in this region.

We passed a herd of sheep on the way up and just as we thought of petting the sheep, the two alert sheep-dogs corrected our thought-process. 😅

We have a clear view of the glaciers and the mountains all around. Kaushal figured that it will be crowded at Chandratal given that it is Full Moon Day. But apart from a couple who are a few minutes behind us, we seem to be the only other ones on the trek route at the moment.
