Majhot, Himachal Pradesh, India, 10 September 2016, 11:30 am:
Came across this huge machine lying idle in front of the old mud house. Mela Ram Uncle informed me that this is the large scale Chakki (grinding machine) as well as Ara (saw) that serves a very wide area around the village. It is capable of grinding upto a quintal of cereal while the saw has a capacity to cut large logs required for furniture, railings, balcony pillars etc.
Although each house has smaller grinding machines for lighter work, people from as far across as Khatnol line up here to get their mass scale grinding and sawing work done.
