The ShaikhSpear Himachal Diary 2016: Up to Jalori Pass

Jalori Pass, Himachal Pradesh, India, 19th September 2016, 9:25 am:

The approach to Jalori Pass from Anni-Khanag side is known to be gradual and long, while the one from Shoja on the other side is really short and steep. So, as expected, the drive yesterday till Khanag was pretty gradual.

In the morning today, as we started out from Khanag, the gradient gradually started increasing while the road conditions kept deteriorating at a similar pace. I looked across to the mountain and saw the guardrails of the road shining in the sun. And the inclination gave us a preview on how steep the road ahead would be.

We’ve taken 30 odd minutes to cover the 6 kms from Khanag to Jalori Pass. And now, it’s time to search for breakfast in the few dhabas here atop Jalori Pass.
