Rohru, Himachal Pradesh, India, 15 December 2016, 1100 hours:
Just a few kilometres ahead of Rohru, towards Chanshal, the valley opens up with considerable change in the flora – from the dense evergreen forests at Kharapathar to dry grass land with some pine trees in the distance out here. The temperatures are also much warmer as Rohru is at a lower altitude. The water in the glacier fed river is less as much of it must have frozen higher up the mountains due to cold temperatures these days. Clouds have also started gathering. I guess (hope rather) it might snow in the coming days.
