TheMountain Walker Diaries: Alive

Nako, Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh, India, 17 January 2017, 2031 hours:

We have just crossed Nako and are pushing on across the Hangrang Valley to Kaza. This next stretch which will take us to Chango and Shialkhar is across bare high altitude mountains. The snow is falling thicker and faster at places now and the drive is slow and steady. I am excited and the excitement is tinged with a sprinkle of fear, a dollop of thrill and a healthy dose of respect for the elements.
We just crossed the Malling Nallah where there is snow and ice accumulated.
The night is dark and inviting and this is what it means to be alive.
