People are out and about the little market, where a few shops are open selling vegetables, woollen wear, groceries and other essentials. 

Children are having a blast. They have made skis out of plastic pipes and wood, and are skiing down the market road, trudging back to the top of the lane and skiing back down again. Younger ones are using wooden planks to sit on and slide down.
