The Mountain Walker Diaries: A ThhenThhuk Breakfast

Kaza, Himachal Pradesh, India, 19 January 2017, 0935 hours:

Have been watching Tsering Dolma make ‘ThhenThhuk’ for our breakfast. ThhenThhuk is a wholesome Soup made with Flat Noodles, fresh vegetables, water, and salt.

This morning, Tsering Dolma used fresh carrots, raddish, capsicum, spinach greens, sliced onion and tomatoes for the ThhenThhuk. And as per their daily practice, she then sat and served everyone a steaming bowl for breakfast. All the cooking and the serving and the eating happened at The Tandoor, but today the venue was the Large Living Room.

ThhenThhuk is awesome, very warm, filling, yet light on the stomach. I had three bowls full. 😊
