The Wayfarer Diaries: Across Ki Village

19-01-2017, 1330 hours, Ki Village, Spiti, Himachal Pradesh, India:

Upon reaching Ki village, I couldn’t help but notice that there was no one out of their homes, with only animals roaming around and basking in the sun. And also most of the houses were locked as the locals had gone down south to escape the frigid temperatures here. It is also not late to add that many visit religious places such has Bodh Gaya and Rewalsar at this time as majority of the people here are Buddhist and this is the only time of the year when everyone is free to go for such excursions.
