Ahead of Mane Dhank Bridge, Himachal Pradesh, India, 29 January 2017, 1247 hours:
We have been stuck for more than an hour and a half now. We have cleared maybe 20 metres of road and filled mud so that the car can get up to second gear and then, maybe, we may be able to climb.
If I had to pick up one lesson above all else from this trip: get a 4×4 drive vehicle if am coming up to remote, high-altitude trips. And a belcha (shovel). In foot-deep snow, a regular 2 wheel drive seems a bit helpless. 😐
