The Wayfarer Diaries: Across Pangmo

21-01-2017, 1430 hours, Pangmo, Spiti, Himachal Pradesh, India:

We are driving across Pangmo now. As we progress further into the valley, the snow has considerably increased. The snow showers began as soon as we crossed Khyurik and since then, the snow has started to settle on the road although the snow flakes are pretty small. We are only able to see up to 200-300 m in the distance.

The fog and the snow together have completely made everything white, with the distant mountains appearing like a charcoal sketch made on white paper. Everything is covered by whiteness and the only other colours we can see are the yellow, green and red prayer flags at specific places (including roof tops), and the houses with off white walls and black and red tops.
