23-01-2017, 1230 hours, Hikkim, Spiti, Himachal Pradesh, India:
We reach village Hikkim which one crosses while going towards Komic. Being one of the highest motor able village in the world, the village also has the highest post office in the world. As many of the locals in the area go for pilgrimage to Bodh Gaya and Rewalsar during the winter season (this year being special due to the 34th Kaal chakra being initiated at Bodh Gaya by his holiness the Dalai Lama), the village seemed to be completely empty with no one visible outside their houses except for a few yaks and cows. I suppose the remaining few people in the village must be inside their homes. The blue skies look promising as we can see the mountains clearly in the distance with very little fog over them. Everything is so peaceful here, except for the constant sound of wind in my ear.
