23-01-2017, 1530 hours, Komic, Spiti, Himachal Pradesh:
As we were wandering about Komic village, I stopped to talk to a shepherdess who was being followed by a very young lamb, while the rest of the flock was grazing on a mountain side. The young lamb was barely able to walk, but was still following the shepherdess, staggering as it moved. Out of concern I asked her what was wrong with it? She then told me that it was born just 2 hours ago. A moment later the lamb started bleating, to which a sheep instantly responded while chewing the grass in its mouth. On further inquiry, I found out that this particular sheep was the newborn lamb’s mother. The young one then started following me as I moved forward. I guess it was maybe because it didn’t want to be alone, as its mother was busy grazing with her friends.
