The Wayfarer Diaries: Heading Back

25-01-2017, 0901 hours, Kaza, Spiti, Himachal Pradesh, India:
We are off to Kinnaur. The snow continued to fall through the night and has now accumulated to about 4-5 inches on the road. Everything is completely white all around us, and  it’s getting difficult to differentiate between the road and the surroundings. Hoping that there will not be too much snow on the way ahead, and the road will be clear for our vehicle to go through.
The only dangerous sections on our way, about which all of us are concerned, is the notoriously famous Mane Dhank; another small section after crossing the bridge at Sumdho (where we had to clear the road of rocks that had slid off the mountain side while coming to Kaza on the night of 17-01-2017); and the scary uphill and downhill road at Nako, which will be our biggest challenge.
But, as of now we have been informed that there is little snow at Nako, and people have been crossing Nako easily. This news gives a little relief to all of us.
