The Wayfarer Diaries: A Call Of Hope

29-01-2017, 1500 hours, Mane Dhank, Spiti, Himachal Pradesh, India:
After going ahead for about a kilometre or so, Abhishek and Ameen have returned with the news that they couldn’t see any work being done on the road up ahead. They called Mr. Tsering Bodh and were told that the vehicles with the pilgrims, who had stopped at Tabo the night before, are coming to Kaza today.
But the good news just came in, after yet another chat with Mr. Tsering Bodh. He has informed us that the Gypsy ahead of us has reached Tabo and they have updated people there that our car is likely to be stuck somewhere between Tabo and Mane Bridge. Mr. Tsering has also assured us that if nothing happens till 1700 hours, he himself will drive down in his own Gypsy and take us back. On the other hand, Sonam Dolma (one of our hosts at Sakya Homestay) has contacted a cab driver from her village, who is driving one of the cars coming back with the pilgrims from Tabo, and asked him to help us out.
It’s now getting colder and colder with every passing minute. But the news has given us some hope that we might be able to get help, and will be able to get out of this situation soon.
