Tanya Munshi Diaries: Settling Down at Geeli Mitti

Tuesday, 25th April 2017, Geeli Mitti Farms, Village Mahrora, Uttarakhand, India:

We got a comfy bedding each in the Bamboo Loft. It’s one huge cabin made entirely with bamboo. You enter and it reminds you of a hostel dormitory, but this one is more rustic and closer to earth.

After a nice hot water bath, we lazed around and headed for lunch – it was a soulful vegetarian meal consisting of brinjal and potato sabzi, rajma, chawal and roti; something that we needed real bad.

The afternoon sun got harsh, as if coaxing us to head right into our bamboo cabin and take a nap. I climbed up to my loft and sat on my bedding to start writing. My eyes were forcing me to shut the laptop and my eyelids too. I finally gave in – as soon as I finished typing the last sentence, I shut down my laptop and hit the sack.
