Tuesday, 25th April 2017, Geeli Mitti Farms, Village Mahrora, Uttarakhand, India:
I woke up refreshed, after a much needed afternoon nap to the sounds of crickets. I climbed down from my loft and sat out in the open ‘lounge’. For a change, there was no unnecessary sound of traffic and the annoying doorbells. I poured myself some freshly brewed tea and allowed the peace, tranquillity and the slow pace of life seep into me.
I sat alone, not talking to anyone. I sat in complete silence – just watching this bright yellow winged moth slow making its way through the dried grass. Even the insects seemed at a leisurely pace here. I looked as far as I could, and I saw the dense green mountains of Kumaon Hills against the backdrop of the clear blue skies.
It has just been the first day and I have already met people from Scotland, Detroit, England, Ladakh, Nainital, Vidarbha, Rajasthan, Lucknow and Bangalore. I am feeling truly amazed and humbled at the same time. This experience makes me feel that I’m just a speck of the universe and the inflating ego finally takes a step back, allowing me to be my flawed and imperfect self.
