The Wayfarer Diaries: Manali Mornings

0605 hours, 16-09-2017, Manali, Himachal Pradesh, India:

Reached Manali well within time to catch the bus. The journey ahead from here will take me through some of the most spectacular valleys in the world, including two high altitude passes (namely Rohtang Pass and Kunzum Pass). It will be on one of the most scariest roads to drive on, through the least populated district in Himachal Pradesh – Spiti, till Kaza. But due to an accident between a truck and a bus (which we saw while coming to Manali), a huge traffic jam had been caused. So the news is that the bus is going to get delayed by an hour or two.

Then again, there are other means of transport available as well e.g. Travellers and Sumo taxies which ferry to and from Manali to Kaza. Considering this option, I have managed to get a seat in one such traveller. To make things even better, I got a window seat in the last row, while the rest of the seats next to me are being occupied by the luggage lying over them!
