Rohtang Top and How!
16-09-2017, 0740 hours, Rohtang Top, Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, India:
In just a matter of 1 hour and 40 mins appproximatley we have made it to the top of Rohtang Pass. And really, it is the fastest I have ever reached up here! As the Traveller made its way up the mountain I got a glimpse of the beautiful mountains all around us with their barren peaks visible in the distance. I was hoping that the cab might stop at Maṛhi, but I guess as the journey is long we might stop further down the road. The sun is higher up now and the Rohtang Top can be seen drenched in the suns rays.
But the most amazing part was crossing over to the other side, cause just as the descent towards Gramphu begins the geography and the contours of the place completely changes, revealing high mountains with steep sides and jagged peaks piercing through the sky. It’s like entering a different world entirely.
