The Mountain Walker at Lavi Mela 2017

1305 hours, 14-11-2017, Rampur, Himachal Pradesh, India:

Today is the final day of the Lavi Mela which is held every year in Rampur (known as Bushahr in the past) and The Mountain Walker is here to witness the event. Traders from all around Northern India have come for this four day festival which is internationally recognised as well. The day begins with shopkeepers setting up their stalls for the day as the crowd begins to gather. The makeshift shops are setup on the National Highway itself, flanking a 2 km stretch from the Old Bus Stand till Chuha Baag.

The main venue for the festival is the Rampur College ground where a lot more of the makeshift shops have been setup. The carnival area has many familiar rides such as the Ferris Wheel and Merry-Go-Round, to name just a few. The festivities will start at 5:00 p.m. and continue till 10 in the night, with performances by local artists on a stage that has been specially setup for the fair.
