The Wayfarer kickstarts his 30th Birthday by hitting the road to Nepal

2237 hours, 08-02-2018, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India:

Bags packed, cash withdrawn, boarded the bus to Delhi, and all set to head out to Nepal. Today I turned thirty and the thought of visiting a different country is keeping me awake while everybody else in the nice and cosy bus have already dozed off. I will be joined by two of my friends at Delhi, from where we will travel by bus (didn’t get any reservations on the train) and enter Nepal by road. We are headed to one of my friend’s village there, which is located somewhere near Pokhra. That’s it – this is all I needed to know to pack up my stuff and leave. Haven’t done any research on what to expect or do over there. There were no prior reservations or ticket bookings done. I am not even sure when I will return back home. The only thing I know is that you need a Voter’s Identification Card as a proof of Indian citizenship to cross into Nepal.

So, what’s the plan? There is no plan! Just the pure pleasure of traveling and exploring.
