The Wayfarer Diaries: I Can’t Get Enough Of This Sunset

15-02-2018, Mudkilla, Galyang Municipality, Syangja District, Gandaki Zone, Nepal:

We decided to climb to the top of the hill to Kot, where there is a temple of the sister of a local deity Aalam Devi. It took us about an hour and a half of hiking to reach the top. And what can I say – the view was just amazing. The valley on the other side is wider so one can see a large expense of the land easily. It is hazy though one can see the Kali Gandaki river flowing down the valley floor, with numerous fields, villages and forest scattered throughout till where the eyes can see.

We shortly went to the temple to offer prayers. The temple was built at the highest point on the hill with two enormous trees visible from places far and wide. I even caught sight of a mango tree along the ridge which was bigger than the trees we had seen around the village.

As the sun came closer and closer to the horizon, it brought about one the most spectacular sunsets amidst the haze and the clouds. I can imagine how beautiful it would be during the rainy season when the view would be more clearer. Looking forward to visiting again during the rainy season. For now I can’t get enough of the sunset.
