Mount Nanda Ghunti Expedition: A Long Day On The Road

We were up early on Tuesday 29th May 2018 and started loading all equipment and materials onto the pick-up truck. We already knew that it would be a long day as we had to visit Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (N. I. M.), Uttarkashi to pick up the technical equipment required for the Mount Nanda Ghunti expedition. We indulged once again in the pleasure of roaming around the beautiful campus of N. I. M. and after picking up the required equipment, we ditched the plan of staying overnight at Uttarkashi and decided to go ahead towards Rudraprayag and stop overnight at a convenient location. This would reduce our road travel duration for the next day and give us ample time to prepare for the coming day’s activities.
