Swarjit Samajpati, Travel Consultant

Born and brought up in Chunar, near Benares, Uttar Pradesh, India, Swarjit is an avid trekker, experienced traveller, and budding mountain-climber. With ancestral roots in Kolkata, West Bengal, Swarjit has trekked across Uttarakhand. He has also undertaken road trips and hikes in Ladakh, Sikkim, Darjeeling, Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Bhutan.

Swarjit is an alumni of St. Francis High School, Ramnagar (near Benares); He holds a Masters in Petroleum Engineering from the Heriot Watt University, Dubai, apart from a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Technical College, Dayalbagh Educational Institute, Agra. His professional career in the Oil & Natural Gas industry afforded him exposure to many different countries and cultures. He spent 8 years with Schlumberger in different capacities developing his technical, and managerial skills. In 2012, he moved to Baker Hughes (Abu Dhabi) as a Production Engineer.

A trekking and climbing companion to Abhishek Kaushal (CEO, The Mountain Walker) since college days, Swarjit is one of the initial angel investors in The Mountain Walker. Earlier this year, he decided to follow his dreams and has now embarked on a new career with The Mountain Walker, taking up Business Development and Product Development responsibilities. He currently resides in Pune, Maharashtra.
